We publish two walks programmes a year, each with about 70 walks with walks on most days of the week. Distances range from 3 miles to over 16 with most graded moderate or easy. Our programme makes it clear when dogs are welcomed and whether or not there is a pub stop for lunch.

We have lots of day walks in the local area but we also do long distance linear walks, usually with stages of 7-12 miles, on one day a month. Linear walks further afield involve weekend or mid-week overnight stays.

Trips to different great walking areas in the UK are organised 3 or 4 times a year. These are for between 3 and 7 days. We like to have one or more trips abroad each year, usually for a week to 10 days in length.

In 2017 we completed the Wyche Way, the Oxfordshire Way, the Gritstone Trail in Cheshire, the Chiltern Heritage Trail and  two stages of the White Horse trail in Wiltshire.

We worked with  disabled Ramblers Group to organise and lead 3 joint walks over the summer. These were very enjoyable and our walking members were amazed at the rough paths disabled ramblers on their mobility scooter drivers tackled with ease.

Over the winter months we haave enjoyed four Winter Walking Weekends covering a linear trail from Highclere to Mere in Wiltshire.  In October we started the Chairman's Walk - a 100 miles walk round the perimeter of West Berkshire.

In 2017 we had trips to the Brecon Beacons, the Wye Valley, Sicily, Northumberland, Norway, the Quantocks and the Malverns.

See our trips page for where we will be going in 2018!

We have regular short walks of up to 5 miles (see section on regular walks).

Come and join us!

 Long distance trails

You are welcome to join in at any stage and do as many (or few) stages as you please, but it is essential to book your place with the organiser 2 weeks before the date of the walks as the walks are linear and most of them involve ordering a taxi or minibus to take us from our parking place to the start of the walk.

Chairman's Walk dates in the winter programme are:

10 October and 14 November 2017,  9 January. 13 February and 13 March 2018.

Dates from April 2018 are 24 April, 22 May, 26 June, 24 July, 29 August, 25 September. .
