The Vale Way - Section 5 - Longcot to Faringdon

2750 9111	Start in Longcot Village at the junction of The Green and Kings Way. Walk to Mallins Lane on the right hand side. Walk along Mallins Lane and take the footpath across the field at the finger post Little Coxwell 1½ miles Proceed through a gap in hedgerow, and then stone culvert, then a waymark post at track, then bridge and stile. Walk to stile and bridge in next field on right hand side. Cross over bridge and stile and then turn left onto footpath.  Proceed along this footpath into the village of Little Coxwell. Walk along road to finger post signed Fernham 2 miles	Church, pub and interesting buildings.
	Take footpath signed Fernham 2 miles through estate gates, turn left through a series of gates, keeping a tennis court and then duck pond on your right hand side.	Views of Downs and Uffington White Horse
	Cross over farm entrance and proceed through gates in fields to Fernham Road.
	Cross over Fernham Road and proceed through a number of gates past Gorse Farm on your left hand side. Continue until there is a stile at a path T-junction with a bridleway.	Source of River Ock on the left hand side. No public access. Public house and interesting buildings in village.
	Turn left onto the bridleway and then turn right at the next junction.  Follow bridleway to Wickleshamlodge Farm. There is an active working quarry on your left hand side.
2772 9227	At Wickleshamlodge Farm turn left onto access road. Follow road and proceeed through gap in the hedgrow, down steps to the A 420 Oxford-Swindon road.
2763 9164	Cross over the A 420, proceed up steps and then the path leads down hill to the A 417 Lechlade Road.	Views of Downs and Uffington White Horse
2889 9558	Cross over the A417 and walk up Volunteer Way. Continue in the same direction down a path which leads into Southampton Street South. Cross over Hart Avenue and proceed to the Market Square in Faringdon.	Faringdon has shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants; Church and historic buildings. It also has a tourist information office.
