Through the site are many pages with content copied from the current site. In most of these the hyperlinks have not [yet] been updated to link within this new site, so you will generally need to use the primary navigation bars to get about.
On this page there are two listings of local walks (led by Oxfordshire groups). The one of the left has a space missing in the distance walked, but otherwise seems OK. The one on the right is an attempt to get round that problem, however I often find it empty.
For all pages of the site the screen can be thought of as being three columns wide; the central one being twice as wide as the outside two. When using a narrower screen (such as an ipad) the outer columns are moved to below the central column, and the menu style changes. This will also happen on a large screen if you use a narrow window.

Didcot & Wallingford group have a core of about 15 to 20 active walkers and a smaller group of friendly walk leaders. We contribute to the area programme with walks of varying lengths and demands. We are always keen to recruit more leaders and experienced members are always happy to support new walk leaders while they are "finding their feet". Our area includes the South Chilterns, Thames path and Berkshire Downs, providing a variety of terrain and scenery.
The photo above shows some of our members walking up towards Table Mountain, on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons, in September 2011 on our annual weekend away. We plan to firm up our plans for 2012 at our AGM on 26th November. If you are interested please get in touch with Nick by e-mail:

Didcot & Wallingford 75th anniversary baton walk
Twelve ramblers and two dogs met in a cold frosty Watlington car park to begin the D&W group’s Baton Walk. After circling Pyrton Manor we started along the Oxfordshire Way, soon crossing the Ridgeway, and ascending up to Christmas Common. We then descended through two areas of woodland ending up at The Crown in Pishill just five minutes before the H&G Group. At this point five of the walkers and the dogs opted to carry straight on whilst the rest of us enjoyed a wonderfully warming soup lunch before passing the Baton on to H&G. We then made our way back to Watlington by ascending up to the Chiltern Way and then down Shakespeare’s Way to complete the loop.
