We cleared a very overgrown footpath near Stratton Audley on Saturday 27 April. The difference can be seen below.

Our next footpath clearing day is Saturday 11 May 10:00 at Weston-on-the-Green. Further details from Mike Sergeant.

Join Blitz & Klean

Bicester & Kidlington Group’s working party (Blitz & Klean) operates in the same territory as the main walking group and meets at least once a month on various days of the week to accommodate all interested parties. See below for our upcoming venues and where we have been recently.

We work with the County Council

Our practical work is done in conjunction with Oxfordshire County Council. They suggest areas that require attention. We carry out light repairs for example, trimming back vegetation, placing waymarker discs and litter-picking. Heavier tasks involving bigger machinery are carried out by the County, The sessions normally take a morning.

Unloading tools

We do encourage members to bring their own secateurs and loppers although we do have some tools and high visibility jackets for loan. Insurance is covered by Central Office but if you wish to join group name and membership number should be given to Mike in advance.
We welcome new members. You do not have to be a walker to join Blitz and Klean.
Suggestions for work to be done are always welcome

Work Carried Out (see photographs below)
8 February: we cleared a footpath near Bicester Avenue and another by the M40 near Junction9
15 March: we cut back brambles and hedges on an overgrown footpath near the Quarry at Stratton Audley
10 April: footpath near Tackley was cleared
