Safety
It is your responsibility as a group member to follow the leader’s instructions for the benefit of the safety of the group as a whole. Please remember:
- If you should leave the walk early, please notify the leader;
- Keep in single file on all roads;
- If the walker in front of you warns you of an upcoming hazard then pass the warning on to the walker behind you;
- Accidents or incidents during a walk should be reported immediately to the leader.

Incident Report Form
If there is an incident on the walk then the Walk Leader must complete an Incident Report Form. The form should be completed as soon as possible after an incident involving injury or property damage, or after a near miss. The completed form should be sent to

Calling the Emergency Services
In areas where there is a poor mobile signal you may not be able to make an emergency phone call but you may be able to send a text as they need less bandwidth to be sent. You need to register your mobile phone before using the emergency SMS service. Following registration, by simply sending an SMS message to 999 you can call for help and the emergency services will be able to reply to you. Register your mobile phone with the service before an emergency happens by texting ‘Register’ to 999. You will receive confirmation that your mobile has been registered.
